25 Mar Silk Painting Workshops
Silk painting has a 2000 year history, with its origins in China. Techniques of the art form, as well as dye types, were further developed throughout Europe and Asia.
Learn this ancient art at our Beginner’s Workshops where we will demonstrate colour composition plus silk painting and dyeing techniques using paint; salt crystal effects; and resist painting with gutta. Design your own or use one of our designs for your gutta outlines.
Materials included are paints and dyes; a silk handkerchief and a practice piece of silk. If you would like to paint/dye another handkerchief, these are available at an additional $5.
Cost: $15 for one session.

What to Bring: An apron, or wear old clothes; a design approximately 25x25cm (not compulsory).
