14 Feb Helen Kuster
Helen Kuster was originally trained as a Cartographic Draftsperson and later worked in technical graphics. In 1991, after studying in Switzerland, she opened her first studio to teach and paint Decorative Art. She lives and works in the Adelaide Hills and has conducted workshops around Australia, New Zealand and England over the past 25 years.
Her designs are hand painted on wood and are inspired by the traditions of Decorative Art. Some of these traditions date back to the 15th and 16th centuries and were practiced in many countries around the world.
Helen’s work has been exhibited in various galleries around Australia and she has featured in several published magazine articles.
She has been the president of the Decorative Artists’ Guild in South Australia and continues to teach the design and techniques of Decorative Art.
More recently, she has combined her long time hobbies with Decorative Art, resulting in a new range of hand embroidered bags; hand drawn jewellery; and small items.
